Collards and Salmon :-)

Last night I threw in a bag of collard greens to the crock pot, added jalapeno peppers, some butter, onions, peppers, vinegar, sugar, and then ate them all day today. They were amazing!

For dinner, I then took some salmon sprayed with pam put it under the broiler when cooked a bit added lemon pepper seasoning then honey mustard sauce and it was to die for!

It was a great day!

Easy tips for weight loss

Two of the easiest tips to make a difference in weight loss, I have learned and share with my friends is:
1. Set a timer every 45 mins to an hour and drink a glass or bottle of ice water! Try to have one right away when waking, it kickstarts your metabolism!
2. Buy a pedometer and track your steps- goal is 10, 000 steps a day. By walking this you are walking 3-4 miles which if you do every day will at the very least usually maintain your weight if you eat the same. Usually, your weight will start dropping.  You may need to work your way to 10K, anything and everything is better!  Buy the cheap ones as you will lose and misplace them. I have about 2-4 at any given time, cheapies from walmart. Also, the new Ipod has one on there. 

These two things require little to no effort so try them and let me know what you think!

Legs , Glutes and Abs

Yesterday , I took off from exercise and today was going on another day of laziness but my girlfriend jokingly mentioned getting fat again to me, so I looked at the pedometer I try to wear each day and I was at 7, 000 steps. I needed 3K more, so I jumped a bit on the trampoline and then decided to try this new video I ordered Perfect legs, Glutes and Abs by Michelle Olson, PhD.I  bought the video from www.collagevideo.com   I like to buy all of my video's there because you can try them for 30 days and return them if you don't like them and read other people's reviews.   OMG, OMG- 5 minutes in and I was sweating like a dog and ready to quit!  LoL There are various sections but today I did a warm up about 2 mins and then Mega Moves Legs and Glutes about 20 mins and Mega move Abs about 5 mins..forget the cool down..towards the end on the legs I didn't make it and did about every other ab move. I was sweating crazily with the fan blowing right on me!!! This video is really very very good! You need dumbells and you will feel it!!!It is a high recommend.  Has anyone tried Flirty girl fitness, brazillian butt lift or turbofire?

Why this blog is being started?

I have started this blog today being encouraged by two friends.  One of them is on a "fish" diet and jokingly mentioned my getting fat, lol, if I kept eating like I was ( again).  The other friend I was telling about this video that I purchased that kicked my arse and she encouraged me to find a spot to put all of the info and things I have learned! I would like to believe I am in semi- decent shape but OMG this was an unbelievable workout! This semi-decent shape has come about over the past year and a half whereas I decided I was not getting any younger and needed to take better care of myself and get myself back in shape. For the past upteenth years I put everyone ahead of me, the four kids who all played travel basketball, the ex- husband, and thus, exercise became minimal and food became a substitute for other things. Yet, from my journey back to me,  what I have learned is that little things make a difference. I don't profess to be a professional at all, but hope to share with other women tips and tricks I and other friends have learned that even if you do one thing, it is more than you were doing before.  This blog is for my sisters in life and we can share tips about whatever we want. We can be each others' support groups and learn from each other.  I hope you enjoy!!
